Cold and Flu Season

Winter brings sledding, skiing, skating and other fun activities for your children. However, a few things associated with Winter that is not enjoyable are GERMS. It doesn’t matter whether it is the flu, stomach bug or common cold, when it’s a germ it hits you hard (especially your child). Here are some helpful hints that you and your child could do to help prevent these nasty germs from attacking you and your family during these Winter months:

1. Always cover your mouth in your sleeve or elbow when you sneeze or cough.
2. Always wash your hands when you sneeze, cough or blow your nose.
3. If someone shows symptoms of being sick try to keep your distance, at least 3
4. If your child is showing symptoms or has a fever try to keep them home in
order to decrease the chance of spreading it to other children.
5. Make sure to clean and sanitize toys or other objects that may have germs on
them so they don’t cause more sickness down the road.

I hope you and your family have a fun winter and stay healthy as much as possible!!

February News

February is full of exciting news for the Goddard School in Chalfont!!

Technology is the way of the world these days and new products have been added to our school for you and your child (ren) to explore. In the next few weeks we will be getting rid of our sign-in and sign-out book and using a new, cool iPad that is mounted in the lobby under the owner’s window. Please stop by the office to tell us your 4 number pin and learn how to use the exciting new iPad! The Pre-K classroom has 2 new computers plus 4 iPads for the children to use throughout the day. We also have added new computers to the Preschool 1 & 2 classrooms. We did not forget out little ones, the Get Set classroom will be receiving a notebook computer to explore on! We can’t wait to watch the children learn and explore through the world’s new ways!

Parent/Teacher conferences will be coming up so make sure you hand in your progress reports and sign up for a conference if you would like one!

We also have a new way of connecting to our families through Goddard Connect. You will be able to use this to pay your tuition, check weather updates, calendar events and any new updates for the school that you should be aware of. Please let the office now if you have not received an email regarding Goddard Connect!

We will be closed on Monday, February 18th for our staff to receive training on Early Childhood Education.

Our new Spotlight Teacher is Ms. Sarah in Preschool 1. She is a graduate from Bloomsburg University and and has been teaching at the Goddard School for the past 5 years while obtaining her degree. Her fun, loving personality is contagious and we are lucky to have such a great addition to our family. Please stop by the wall located by the lobby to learn more about our great Preschool 1 teacher.

February is also the month of love!!! Give a loved one an extra hug or kiss to show them how much you care!
