‘Root For Earth’

Sensory Table with ToddlersEarth Day is Monday April 22, 2013. In order to help teach our children how important it is to take care of our planet the Goddard School will be participating in fun educational activities on Monday and calling it “Root For Earth”. The children will be reading books about our Earth and learning songs about how we can take care of it. We will also do the following activities together as a school:

1. Plant A Seed – your child will learn about plants and trees and how they are good for our environment while they help plant flowers in their classrooms!

2. Decorate a Banner – each classroom will decorate their own banner for “Root For Earth” by drawing, coloring and stamping with friends!

3. Create a Recyclable Door – the children will work together to glue recyclables that were brought in to their classroom recycle bin on their class door!

Please feel free to stop in and “Root For Earth” with the Goddard School in Chalfont!

April News

Gardening - Kids & TeacherThe months are flying by and we have completed our Summer Camp Registration and are busy working on the 2013-2014 school year. We are now registering for September 2013. All current families will see the annual registration fee of $125 in their April statement. Please let us know if there are any changes to your child’s schedule for the fall!

The book fair is almost here! It will be arriving the week of April 15th! We take cash, checks and major credit cards. We hope you enjoy the new and exciting books with your family!

Spring has arrived! We can finally say goodbye to cold weather and hello to warm weather! Please make sure your child’s clothes are up to date for the weather and their current size. All children should keep a top, bottom, and underwear in their cubbie for emergencies.

Last but definately not least, Goddard is excited to celebrate our Earth and promote a healthier Earth for future generations to come as we kick off “Root For Earth” on Monday, April 22nd. We will start the week by flipping the switch with nearly 400 Goddard Schools nation wide. We will turn off all non-essential lighting for one hour. The children will also participate in fun environmental learning activities throughout the week to teach them about our earth and how to take care of it. Stop by and “Root For Earth” with us today!
