Autumn is Here!

Happy Fall! Today is the official first day of Autumn! This has us thinking of all the fun cool weather activities ahead of us!

Which brings me to a couple of reminders:

-Please check your child’s extra clothes for school and make sure to add some pants and long sleeved shirts as well as t-shirts and shorts.

-Also, if it’s going to be chilly, please make sure your child has a jacket or sweatshirt to wear for outside play. We go out every morning and every afternoon.

Fundraising Time! We are currently doing two fundraisers for our school!

First is the Yankee Candle Fundraiser!  All the information was put in the parent mailboxes in the hallway.  There are two ways to shop this one! You can either shop from the catalog and use the order form or shop online! There are some online exclusive items you can buy as well!  Just visit www.yankeecandlefundraising.com and enter the Group Number (from the information in your fundraiser packet) in the “Start Shopping” box.  Then shop away!  This fundraiser started on September 14th and orders are due to the office by September 30th.  Delivery will take 2-4 weeks.  If you are paying with a check, please make the checks payable to Goddard Parent Organization.

Second is the Scholastic Book Fair! The Book Fair is at our school now and will be here until Friday the 25th.  Come on in and shop for some new books! This time we received many new titles, lots of board books for the younger children, some really funny Halloween themed books, and yummy cookbooks as well! Each classroom made a Wish List for their room.  You can shop from their wish lists and donate a book to your child’s class.  The Wish Lists are located at the front of the school next to Case 1.  You can purchase items using cash, checks made out to Goddard, or credit card!

Thank you so much for all of your support! It is greatly appreciated!

In Autumn
by Winifred C. Marshall

They’re coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They’re covering the little flowers,
And tucking them in bed
They’ve spread a fairy carpet
All up and down the street;
And when we skip along to school,
they rustle ‘neath our feet
