Friendship, Compassion, Cooperation and Kindness

Students at The Goddard School® located in Hillsboro, OR benefit from our program focused on appropriate behavior and manners provided for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.

The innovative Goddard Guide to Getting Along fosters acquisition of four essential skills:  Friendship, Compassion, Cooperation and Kindness.  The program’s wide variety of age-appropriate activities inspire thoughtful discussion and provide opportunities for skill building at age-appropriate levels, even for children as young as 18-months-old.

  • A recent Associated Press-Ipsos poll indicates that Americans think children behave rudely in public, either frequently or occasionally, 85% of the time.
  • Providing a foundation of courtesy and respect for children is the responsibility of parents and schools working in partnership.
  • Lessons on Stranger Danger teach children to recognize unsafe situations, react and respond appropriately, and differentiate between situations in which personal safety is more important than using good manners.
